Enabling Students to Focus on Education and the Lord's Work

Imagine being sixteen years old and having little or no elementary education, living in extreme poverty, and no foreseeable hope for your future. All that is ahead of you is a hard existence, menial wages, and darkness. This is the typical life of a rural child in India.
In 1997 the founders of Green Pastures Home School and Orphanage in Koilkado, India, took in underprivileged, orphaned or semi-orphaned and a few disabled children. While providing these young people with shelter, food, and education, they provide them hope through the love of Jesus. Often, when the students complete their education at Green Pastures, they return to their villages to provide hope to their communities, like a ray of light, guiding others toward education, understanding health and hygiene practices, and the joy of serving others toward the love of the Lord.
The current group of twenty students in 2009 ranges from age 16 to 25, girls and boys. These students are very diligent and understand the great privilege of receiving an education. These students usually have one, maybe two changes of clothing and very little personal care items. This is one place we can help!

For $5 you can provide one student with a Personal Hygiene Kit
For $15 you can provide one student with a Set of Clothes
For $20 you can provide one student with the Complete Kit which includes both the personal hygiene products and a new outfit of clothes
Donate any amount-- one dollar or a hundred, every bit helps!
The Personal Hygiene Kit includes: bathing and laundry soaps, shampoo, coconut oil, toothpaste, toothbrush, hair combs, talcum powder (deodorant), plus feminine hygiene products for a girl or a razor for a boy.
The Set of Clothes includes: one set of clothes (Indian dress) and one pair of flip flops.
Any additional funds received past providing every student with a Complete Kit for 2009 will be used for other student needs which may include flashlights, backpacks, umbrellas, raincoats, books, paper, pencils, blankets, coats, etc.
